📐💜 TRANSFORMING LEARNING IN 8TH GRADE MATH! 💜📐 Ms. Hinojos’ 8th-grade math students took a hands-on approach to learning geometric transformations as they prepared for their upcoming math test! Using pegboards and geometric shapes, students brought graphing concepts to life by exploring reflections, rotations, and translations. Instead of simply seeing transformations on paper, they were able to build, move, and visualize each one! A little hands-on learning goes a long way in helping our Shorthorns make connections and strengthen their mathematical understanding! 💜 #MarfaISD #ShorthornMath #HandsOnLearning #ElevateExcellence #RideForTheBrand

💻⚡ TECH KEEPS US CONNECTED! ⚡💻 Today, on National IT Professionals Day, Marfa ISD recognizes our IT Director, Mr. Salcido, for keeping our district connected, supported, and moving forward! From computers and iPads to networks, software, troubleshooting, and everything in between, Mr. Salcido works behind the scenes every day to keep technology working for our students and staff. 🏔️📍 LEARNING THE LAY OF THE LAND! 🗺️ Mr. Pineda’s students learned topographic maps and contour lines in geography class... and they weren't PLAY-DOH-ing around with this activity. Students created their own mountains and hills, then sliced them into sections to trace and create contour lines—giving them a hands-on look at how elevation and slope are represented on a map. They learned that the closer the contour lines are, the steeper the slope; the farther apart they are, the more gradual the slope. Hands-on learning at work! 💜🏔️ #MarfaISD #ShorthornLearning #HandsOnLearning #ElevateExcellence #RideForTheBrand
