DSHS will offer the Pfizer Vaccine at Marfa Shorthorn Gym for children ages 5-11 and vaccines and boosters for children 12 years of age and older on January 20, 2022 from 12 noon-4:00 p.m. or until they run out. Due to the rise in Covid infections and lack of staff to provide instruction, Marfa ISD will cancel all classes on Thursday, Jan. 13 through Monday, Jan. 17. Classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 18. District nurse Beverly Dutchover will offer testing for students and staff from 9 a.m.-12 noon, Monday, Jan. 17 at the elementary school. This is an evacuation drill. All students and staff are evacuating to the First United Methodist Church at Washington and Austin streets. Students will be released to parents/guardians at approximately at 10:45 a.m. A photo identification must be presented to pick up your child. Do not park or get out of your vehicle. The regular bus service will not be available after the drill.

Congratulations to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade UIL academic participants for a first place finish at the district meet in Fort Davis this week. The students earned 630.5 points to tie with Fort Davis for first place.
