Marfa ISD will be kicking off Red Ribbon Week with an assembly at Martin Field tomorrow at 10:00 AM. Community members are welcome to attend! We will have special guests from law enforcement and border patrol. All students are encouraged to wear red.

After an exhaustive search due to the Immanuel Christian cancellation, Marfa ISD has not been able to secure an opponent for football game for Friday, September 20th. Homecoming court will be announced during the community pep rally that begins tonight at 7:00 PM, after the parade. Homecoming king and queen will be presented at tonight's festivities. They will also be re-introduced during the football contest next Friday, September 27 vs. Faith Christian. Come out and support the Shorthorns at the parade, pep rally and homecoming ceremonies tonight.

Immanuel Christian has cancelled the game vs. Marfa Shorthorns scheduled for Friday September 20th. At this time, MISD is seeking a replacement opponent for the homecoming game. We will make an announcement regarding the homecoming game at approximately 9:00 AM tomorrow morning.
Marfa ISD fall photos will be taken on October 8. All students, plan to take photos. Seniors will be able to retake photos if needed. Class photo will be taken PK-6.

The Freshman class problem solved how to create the longest paper chain using a 12x18 piece of construction paper. They reflected afterward on how collaboration and leadership helped expedite the work they did. Congratulations to Aubrie, Janelly, and Hannah for the longest chain 😊
City of Marfa has notified us that they will be swapping out a gas meter on the north side of the elementary this morning around 8:30-9:00 am. There should be no impact to instruction but the city advised that visitors may smell a faint gas smell until complete.
