📚 Marfa ISD Shines at District UIL!
Marfa ISD had an outstanding showing at this year’s District 9A UIL Academic Meet! Under the direction of UIL Coordinator Mrs. Donel Hartnett, our Elementary and Junior High teams showcased incredible talent, hard work, and academic growth.
Teachers and event sponsors reported tremendous student excitement and progress, with many Shorthorns placing in the Top 5 across multiple events. We are grateful to all our teachers, coaches, drivers, and sponsors for their dedication — and a special thank-you to our high school student volunteers for providing extra support for our younger competitors.
🏆 Elementary placed 2nd overall (413.1 points)
🏅 Junior High placed 3rd overall (508.5 points)

Our senior class participated in CPR Certification Day and we want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Ms. Dutchover for organizing this important learning experience for our 12th graders.
Under her guidance, students learned how to:

*Take the first critical steps of CPR and engage in hands-on CPR practice

Students cannot travel without a signed permission form & must have met attendance / behavior requirements (ISS, detention, etc.)
🚌 Trip Details
Departure: 6:10 A.M. (Drop off in front of the auditorium)
Return: Approximately 5:00 P.M. (Pick up in front of the bus barn)
🥪 Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students.
💵 Optional Spending Money: Students may bring cash if they wish to shop at the museum gift store.
👕Dress code required: Closed-toe shoes, bring a jacket

Marfa ISD students attended a performance of Julius Caesar on Wednesday, November 19th at The Globe Theatre after studying Shakespeare in Ms. Foster’s English II and Ms. Hartnett’s Senior English classes.
A huge thank-you to Odessa Arts for providing this opportunity and for supporting arts education across West Texas. Students not only experienced the play live, but also spoke with professional actors—perfect inspiration as they prepare for One Act Play this spring!
