Week 10 | October 26–31 Monday is an early release day. Red Ribbon Week activities run all week, with an assembly Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the football field. Five Shorthorn runners compete at regionals Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in Fort Worth. Seniors visit Blue Origin Wednesday, and volleyball playoffs vs. Rankin are Thursday; site and time are pending. Football plays at Sierra Blanca Friday. The PTO Fall Festival is Saturday—details to come!

SAT Testing Update SAT administration was not possible today due to a nationwide technical issue with the SAT testing program. The test has been rescheduled for tomorrow, October 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for students in grades 11 and 12. Testing will take place in the library with Mrs. Baker and proctors. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

🚀 BIG OPPORTUNITY, SHORTHORNS! 🚀 We’re excited to offer the SAT to our juniors and seniors as they prepare for their next steps after high school! The test will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, in the Marfa ISD Library, with Ms. Baker and our proctors. Good luck to our Shorthorns—you’ve got this! Congratulations to our newest National Honor Society members: Seth Nunez, Adeline Marquez, Mikayla Bentley, Austin McGary, and Liliana Zubia! Being selected for NHS is an accomplishment to be proud of. Members are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character—and are expected to keep showing those qualities in their school and community. We’re proud of each of you and excited to see the difference you’ll make as Shorthorns.

🏞️ Adventure awaits our 4th graders! Mrs. Susan Flusche’s class received their National Park passes during an informative presentation and engaging visit with a park ranger from the Fort Davis National Historic Site. What a wonderful way to connect classroom learning with the history and beauty of our national parks! We hope these passes inspire many exciting adventures and discoveries! 💜🦬
