Parents/guardians of MISD students, When attending an event at the Marfa ISD football field or Shorthorn Gym, we request that students in grades PK - 6th grade sit with a parent, guardian, or an adult that is responsible for them during the time they are at the current event. This request is for the safety of our students and for the general well being of those attending the event. By following Covid safety recommendations we are trying to limit exposure to others. Also, the people attending are there to support our teams and watch the game. Children running up and down, climbing on the fence, and playing are a distraction for many and a safety issue. Our goal is to protect our students and ensure a safe environment for all attending the event. Thank you for your support and help to make the events safe and enjoyable for everyone in attendance. Go Shorthorns!

With the increase in COVID cases and other common viruses, we are asking that parents/guardians please keep their child home if she/he has a fever, cough, or sore throat. This will be an excused absence with a note from the parent or a medical provider explaining the illness. District nurse Beverly Dutchover has COVID tests available for students. Please contact her at 432-729-5500 to schedule a test if needed.
