Everyone's invited to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at a Civil Rights Read-Off on the steps of the Presidio County Courthouse - five hours of historic civil and human rights speeches read by you, me, and all of our friends, 10 am - 3 pm, Monday, January 16.
Marfa ISD Superintendent Oscar Aguero will kick off the event at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. King’s I Have a Dream speech. Additional volunteers will read the words of Cesar Chavez, Shirley Chisholm, Michelle Obama, George Takei, and more.
If you'd like to read, you can view the selected speeches and sign up to participate at goo.gl/66qmZh.
Come and go throughout the day, bring your coffee, bring your lunch, bring your enthusiasm for justice and equality.
See you on the courthouse steps!
